The mission of Bond Christian Service Camp is to provide a Christian environment in a natural setting that challenges youth and adults to love and serve Christ.
We believe God is the creator and sustainer of all things, Jesus Christ is God in the flesh by whom all must be saved, and the Bible is God’s perfect and complete word to those who desire to live a Christian life. We also practice baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Bond Christian Service Camp began in 1953 after several men in the Bond County churches saw a need for summer camp. Minimal programming was offered the first summer at the Durley Summer Camp just north of Greenville. The current property was purchased soon after and the work of clearing the land and building the kitchen/dining hall, boys and girls dorms and the chapel quickly ensued. More churches quickly got involved in supporting the camp, sending campers and volunteers. Today, almost 40 churches are a members of the Bond Christian Service Camp district. There are Christian Churches from all over the Metro-east St. Louis Area and as far east as the Effingham area, as far north as Witt and as far south as Columbia IL. Each summer hundreds of kids from these churches and many more faithfully attend camp at Bond.
